At the crossroads of the Landes, Béarn and Gers, a few kilometers from Pau, Orthez and Aire-sur-l’Adour, the town of Arzacq, in Terre de Soubestre, perfectly embodies the landscapes, the climate, the great agricultural and architectural traditions of the Adour Basin.
On the Arzacq site, the Maison du Jambon de Bayonne has created an interactive museum space, offering the public a thousand-year-old journey steeped in history, largely open to the discovery, culture and identity of the pork industry in the region. Southwest and its gastronomic flagship: Bayonne ham. The visitor discovers this story through frescoes, models, tools, games, panels, screens. The auditorium offers the public the projection of a film about the 4 seasons of Bayonne Ham.
At the end of the visit, a tasting area and a shop offer the opportunity to enjoy Bayonne Ham and take away various souvenirs: pâtés, cured meat, cooked dishes, salt from Salies-de-Béarn, Bayonne ham display.
